For those of you who wished to hear Former Mayor Sid Parker’s talk last Wednesday evening on the planning and construction of the Revelstoke Dam but were unable to attend, the video is available online at http://edtech.nlc.bc.ca/sidparker.asx.

Sid Parker was the Mayor of Revelstoke during the planning and construction of the Revelstoke Dam in the late 1970s. Following his term as Mayor, Mr. Parker served as the Member of Parliament for Kootenay East and dealt with many issues surrounding the Columbia River Treaty.

Sid Parker is now an elder statesman who has spoken at colleges and universities across Canada. In a public discussion entitled “Lessons from the Past” A Mayor’s Experience of the Revelstoke Canyon Dam,” Sid shares his extensive, community-based knowledge about large hydroelectric projects.
