Vancouver May 13 Event

When the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, Wilderness Committee Sierra Club BC Peace Valley Environment Association and Amnesty International Canada get together to put on an event – you know it’s going to rock your world. May 13 – Be there! Keep the Peace.

Join the gathering and show your support for protecting the Peace and First Nations as they work to preserve the opportunity to carry out their guaranteed treaty rights in the Peace River Valley.

The B.C. and federal governments are pushing ahead with the Site C dam even though their own review panel found that it would cause unmitigable impacts to the First Nations and negative impacts to the Peace Valley region as a whole. Treaty 8 First Nations and Peace Valley landowners are standing up in court for human rights, cultural survival and protection of farmland.

Join us for this Vancouver based event, featuring Chief Roland Willson of the West Moberly First Nation, Grand Chief Stewart Philip from the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, Craig Benjamin from Amnesty International and Joe Foy from Wilderness Committee.

When: Wednesday, May 13, 2015:  Vancouver, 7 pm at Creekside Community Recreation Center, 1 Athletes Way

Admission by donation.

A wonderful opportunity to gather in solidarity to help protect and support.

We hope you will mark your calendars and attend one of these inspiring events.  Be sure to invite your family and friends! 🙂
